Tales of Androgyny is a fantasy RPG from Majalis built around exploration, character development, and a distinctive stance-based battle system. Originally created for Lewd Jam 2016, the project has grown considerably from its game-jam beginnings and continues to receive new content, gameplay improvements, artwork, and story development.
Rather than following the structure of a traditional visual novel, Tales of Androgyny places much of its emphasis on RPG systems. Players travel across a fantasy world, manage equipment and resources, develop their character, and encounter a varied collection of humans, creatures, and monsters along the way.
Combat is one of the game's defining features. Encounters use a stance-oriented system in which positioning, abilities, equipment, and character attributes influence the available options. This gives the game a stronger mechanical focus than many story-driven adult games and makes character builds and progression an important part of the experience.
Majalis has continued expanding Tales of Androgyny long after its original 2016 release. New public builds regularly introduce additional locations, characters, artwork, animations, equipment, customization options, balance changes, and fixes, while Story Mode provides a more narrative-focused way to experience the game's world.
